"This is the story of Larry Kroger (Tom Hulce), a freshman at Faber College in the early 60's. He and fellow student Kent Dorfman (Steven Furst) rush and pledge Delta House, the campus' worst fraternity. The movie is a series of hillarious situations occurring through their freshman semester: a food fight, toga party, road trip, pledging ceremony and homecoming parade all reminiscent of college life in the 50's and 60's. As the semester proceeds the Delta House gets deeper into trouble as it's members run afoul of sinister Dean Wormer (John Vernon), who is out to run the fraternity off campus.
Larry and Kent also are plagued by rival fraternities (the Omegas), failing grades, and underage girls. Each predicament is funnier than the last. Finally, the Deltas have their charter revoked and the members are expelled. Not ones to take things lying down they rally behind brother Bluto's, "Lets do it!" and sabotage the schools homecoming parade, laying waste to the streets of Faber in the process.
It is a screw-ball coming of age movie that sets the standard by which most other comedies are judged. Animal House is scored with a rousing rock and roll soundtrack. Many actors helped launch their careers with their appearance in this film: John Belushi, Tom Hulce, Steven Furst, Karen Allen, Bruce McGill and Peter Reigert."

"This comedy follows a group of dumb guys who belong to the Delta Fraternity. This wild frat has been put on Double Secret Probation which means if they do one thing wrong they are expelled. They get expelled, but they are not going down without a fight, so they cook up a plan to sabotage a parade."

"A group of college misfits take a few liberties with their dates as they take on the administration and the leading frat to wreak havoc on the school's homecoming parade. "

"Set in the pre-Kennedy assasination 1960s, Animal House is by far the best "campus fick" ever. It has set the comedic groundwork for almost every "teen movie" of the late 20th and 21st century. With a cast of now-famous talent, Animal House "takes the bull by the balls" and shows us just how talented comedic actors can be. Virtually every performance in the movie is thoughtful and untainted by the stardom that todays "teen movie" stars attract for lousy acting. Belushi and Matheson steal the show, though, with Tom Hulce (in his first screen performance) a close runner-up. The movie even includes everone's favorite "Body Snatcher victim", Donald Southerland, as pot-smoking English professor, Jennings. Animal House should be in the movie library of anyone that considers themself a movie-buff."

"A very anarchistic comedy about losers who want more power. Very encouraging an hilarious. John Belushi makes a outrageously funny appearance."
