| BUFFET FROID, sometimes called "Cold Cuts", is a French surreal comedy written and directed by Bertrand Blier in 1979. This movie earned the 1980 French Academy award (César) in the Best Screenplay category.
Three men, the sole inhabitants of an empty rooming house, start to kill, without any good reason at all, the people around them. First, there is Alphonse Tram (Depardieu), an unemployed suffering from recurrent nightmares, who's involved in several murders but doesn't have any memory of having committed the crimes. The second main character is Morvandieu (Blier), a police inspector who hears Tram's confession. The last one, played by Jean Carmet is a serial killer always looking for a woman to murder. | ||
