Review By Daniel Staebler "The Blue Gardenia"
Starring: Anne Baxter, Richard Conte, Ann Sothern, Raymond Burr, Jeff Donnell, Nat King Cole
THE BLUE GARDENIA is a movie directed by Fritz Lang in 1953.

Anne Baxter, feeling despondent after having been left by her boyfriend, dines with the womanizer Raymond Burr. Later in the evening, after too many drinks, she ends up in Burr's apartment and must protect herself against his advances. The next thing she knows is that she wakes up in her bed with a headache in the morning.

Raymond Burr is found dead by the police, and Anne Baxter is persuaded she's murdered him. The journalist Richard Conte, in charge of the case, tries to find a way to meet the "Blue Gardenia" murderess and publishes an open letter in the newspaper, inviting the culprit to tell him what has happened during that night.

Anne Baxter, still unable to remember any of the events but feeling that the police is coming closer to her, decides to contact the journalist.
