| Review Summary and Plot Commentary about The Advanced Guard |
Aliens using humanoid bodies are studying humans to learn how to control them prior to invasion, and kidnap 4 humans for study. They put them through trials up to and including death, trying to find some method that will allow them to control their minds, until the woman captive falls in love with the man who tries repeatedly to save her and all of them, which makes her controllable by them.
But the alien scientist leading the study turns against the mission, and helps the humans escape the others and destroy their bodies, getting damaged by the commander in the process. She diverts the invasion and places her mind in the woman's body, to become a human and experience human pleasure and love. Simple set, clever story, well acted.
