Review Summary and Plot Commentary about Bugsy
BUGSY is a movie written by James Toback and directed by Barry Levinson in 1991. Nine nominations for the Academy Awards.

The movie depicts the last years of the life of Benjamin -Bugsy- Siegel who, with Meyer Lansky and Charlie Luciano, was one of the top gangsters of NYC. Warren -Bugsy- Beatty meets the aspirant actress Annette Bening in Los Angeles and falls madly in love with her while his family has stayed in New-York. After an almost mystical vision in the Nevada desert, Beatty persuades his criminal partners to join him in the construction of a casino in the middle of the desert : the Flamingo set in a nowhere place called Las Vegas. Leaving the economical questions to Annette Bening, Beatty wants and sees his dream coming true before his very eyes. But the operation, first budgeted at 1 million $ will cost nearly 6 millions and the mob doesn't trust Bugsy anymore as a secret account related to Annette Bening has been discovered in a swiss bank.

The american dream of a criminal. Perfect.
