When we first fade from the title of 8 Mile, we see Rabbit (Eminem, solo artist and of rap group D-12), a representative of the rap crew "Three One Third," getting hype before a battle at the Shelter.
Rabbit's struggles with many people... his mother and her goldigging ways, his issues with the wrong women, his ongoing beef with "The Free World," the antagonist of the hip-hop scene in Detroit, and the struggle within himself to overcome everything, from The Nothing Label in life to the White Label in Rap.
