| Review Summary and Plot Commentary about The White Sheik |
THE WHITE SHEIK, cowritten by Michelangelo Antonioni and Federico Fellini, is the first film directed by Fellini, released in 1951.
Trieste and Bovo arrive in Rome for their honeymoon. Bovo is secretly hoping to meet Alberto -the White Sheik- Sordi, the hero of a photo strip with whom she exchanged letters. She sneaks off the hotel but is taken by the photo crew 20 miles away from Rome. While Sordi is trying to seduce the innocent girl, Trieste has a hard time convince his family that his wife is suffering from a severe headache and is unable to leave her room.
