Review Summary and Plot Commentary about Wall Street
The heavy hand of Oliver Stone created this high-energy vehicle for Michael Douglas' 1987's "Best Actor" performance as Gordon Gecko, a juggernaut Wall Street wheeler-dealer (“lunch is for wimps”). Impressed with admirer Bud Fox's (Charlie Sheen) resourcefulness, Gecko permits him into his office, warning, “I see a hundred deals a day; maybe I pick one.” Gecko gradually mentors Bud in the fine art of insider trader; especially since Bud's father (Martin Sheen) is a senior airline mechanic who has the skinny on which routes his company may be losing.

Bud is so seduced by Gecko's charisma and lifestyle that he justifies betraying his father. Moreover, Gecko gives Bud a blank check if he can find a way, legal or otherwise, to learn the details of a rival's deal. He then invites Bud to watch as he rubs all this in the face of this adversary who once bested him in a real estate deal.

As cold-callers twice Bud's age see their heads roll, Bud is making commissions faster than he can sign a Central Park lease where he entertains Darien (Darryl Hannah), another Gecko perk. But when he realizes the extent of Gecko's ruthlessness, it is far too late.
