Review Summary and Plot Commentary about Ichi the Killer
Based on the manga "Koroshiya 1" by Hideo Yamamoto, ICHI THE KILLER is a movie directed by Takashi Miike in 2001.

The yakuza boss Anjo has been savagely murdered in his apartment. His first lieutenant, the sadistic Kakihara, will use torture and molestation in order to obtain informations about his boss's murderer. He won't hesitate to torture one of the yakuza bosses after having listened to a simple rumour. Insensible to pain, Kakihara is sexually aroused when it comes to inflicting pain to others.

Anjo has been killed by a mentally disturbed young man, Ichi, who's manipulated by Jiji, a yakuza working for a rival gang. Ichi is convinced to to kill the bad guys of Tokyo. He will, literally speaking, exterminate one by one the remaining members of the Anjo gang.

ICHI THE KILLER has almost unbearable scenes of torture and gore.
