|Review Summary and Plot Commentary about Alamo Bay|
|This movie stars Ed Harris as Shang, a despondent Vietnam veteran who feels he is in danger of losing his livelihood to Vietnamese fishermen. Shang is under financial pressure from owing money on the loan to his boat and sneaking around with a shrimp shipper's daughter named Glory (Amy Madigan). Meanwhile, Dinh (Ho Nguyen) is working hard trying to live out the american dream and own his boat. There is trememendous strife with the local fishermen and the Vietnamese. They feel like the Vietnamese are taking over their fishing spot. And when Shang breaks it off with Glory and loses his boat he finally goes over the edge. He gathers up the locals and they get the KKK involved to block anyone involved with having anything to do with Vietnamese fishing. The locals eventually force the Vietnamese people to leave but Dinh doesn't give up hope as Glory shows kindness to him. This all sets up the big showdown between Shang, Dinh, and Glory.
