Review Summary and Plot Commentary about Bubba Ho-tep
In the 1970s Elvis Presley (Bruce Campbell) becomes bored of his life as a famous singer and he seeks out an impersonator with whom he can "temporarily" switch places. He chooses Sebastian Haff (also Campbell). Elvis embraces his new life as an impersonator and never goes back to his real life. One day he falls from the stage during his show and ends up in a small town hospital. There he stays for decades until he eventually bores of his new life as Sebastian and admits that he is really Elvis. By then no one is willing to believe his story and Elvis may have to spend the end of his life in a dirty nursing room.

Elvis befriends another long-term hospital patient who believes that Elvis really is Elvis. This new friend (Ossie Davis)thinks that he is JFK; even though he's black. (It's all part of a cover up). Together Elvis and JFK experience some mysterious events: other patients are mysteriously dying, giant insects are attacking the patients, and the power surges on and off without explanation.

The pair learn that an Egyptian mummy was accidentally left in a nearby pond; it is killing the hospital patients in its quest for food. Elvis and JFK decide to battle the mummy to save their lives.
