| Review Summary and Plot Commentary about Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter's Dead |
Sue Ellen (Applegate) is ready to spend all of her summer days laying on the beach or hanging out at all the local malls. She soon finds out it will be the worst summer of her life.
Sue Ellen's mother leaves for a two-month trip to Australia, and leaves her and her four siblings with an old, mean spirited baby-sitter. The baby-sitter keeps a tight leash on the children, until she dies in her sleep one day. The kids, afraid to tell their mother, drops the old lady off at the cemetery and never looks back. That is, until they realized they accidentally left the summer allowance money in her purse.
All alone and out of money, Sue Ellen fabricates a resume and gets a job at a big time fashion agency. The receptionist at the office was hoping to get Sue Ellen's job, so she tries whatever it takes to get her fired.
The company receives news unless somebody can come up with a new and exciting school uniform, it is likely the plant would have to close. Sue Ellen volunteers to save the day by holding the event at her house, and they work together to make sure the night is a success. But the jealous receptionist has other ideas.
