Review Summary and Plot Commentary about The Best Man
A group of friends is gathering in New York city for the wedding of football player Lance (Morris Chestnut) and Mia (Monica Calhoun). The main character Harper (Taye Diggs) is Lance's best man. Harper is a writer who has just written a semi-autobiographical novel about his college experiences and his group of friends. Harper is afraid that Lance will get wind of the contents of the book and freak out. It seems that years ago Harper slept with Mia, Lance's bride to be. Jordan (Nia Long), a member of the media, has an advance copy of Harper's book. Jordan, who almost got together with Harper back in college and still has a thing for him, wants to sleep with Harper to see if they still have chemistry. Although Harper is tempted he has a girlfriend Robin (played by Sanaa Lathaam)who is on her way to New York city to attend the wedding. When Jordan's advance copy of Harper's book begins circulating amongst the group of friends total chaos breaks out. Will there be a wedding after all?
