| Review Summary and Plot Commentary about Avalon |
AVALON was directed by Mamoru Oshii (Ghost in the Shell) in 2000.
Ash is one of the best players of the illegal video battle simulation AVALON. Between two missions, she uses to visit Murphy at the hospital. Murphy's brain didn't bear one of Avalon's mission and collapsed. One day, her friend Stunner tells Ash that she should find the doorway to the upper level of the game where Murphy is maybe blocked in. Helped by the master of the game and by Bishop, Ash manages to kill the shadow of one of the Nine Sisters who rule Avalon's last level. As this A level is called "reality level", soon Ash doesn't know what is real anymore. She meets Murphy there and both know that the only way to log off from Avalon is to kill the other player.
