Review Summary and Plot Commentary about District B13
This movie (Banlieue 13), written and produced by Luc Besson, was directed by Pierre Morel in 2004.

The action of the film takes place in 2010. The suburbs of Paris have been walled in. The police remains outside the wall and lets the gangs rule the roost inside. Police Capt. Damien Tomaso is asked by his chief to go into the B13 district to defuse a nuclear warhead which has just been stolen by mistake by Taha Bemamud and his gang. Tomaso has 24 hours to find the bomb before it explodes. He is accompanied by Leito, a young native of the district, learned in martial arts and guns like himself, whose sister has been made prisoner by Taha. The two men contact Taha who demands 20 million Euros before giving the warhead to them. Tomaso's chief says no to the deal leaving Leito and Tomaso alone in Taha's hands. Meanwhile, Taha has found a way to get rid of the warhead: to place it on a launching ramp and to launch it over Paris.
