Review Summary and Plot Commentary about The Hunt for Red October
Caption Marko Ramius (Sean Connery) of the Soviet Red Fleet is ordered to test the new Soviet submarine 'Red October'. This sub has a propultion system that can hardly be detected with sonar, and if that isn't enough... It has about 100 nuclear warheads aboard. (Cuba Crisis Part II)
A CIA-analyzer (Alec Baldwin) has a theory about Ramius. He might be defecting. From then it's a race against the clock. With the entire Red Fleet behind him, Ramius is about to start a national crisis in the North-Atlanic.

The Soviet Union has developed a nearly silent submarine that is a possible first strike weapon against the U.S.
The Soviet captain put in charge of this sub decides to defect to the U.S. with a few "hand picked" officers with the same feelings as him. They also decide to bring the "gift" of this new sub along with them. Problem is... A Soviet missle sub just doesn't walk into a U.S port. Enter Jack Ryan, CIA analyst who figures out what the Soviets sub crew are up to. The rest is an action packed movie about how they work together to bring about this end game.

A Russian Sub Skipper tries to defect to the US but the Soviet Navy has started a massive mission to find the sub, the Red October, on the cover story as a rescue mission, but the Americans don't belive it. The Hunt for Red October is one of Clancy's best books and I would recomend it to anyone who has intrest in the Military.

Sean Connery, the captain of a new kind of Soviet ballistic submarine, decides to defect, bringing his ship with him. The feminine Alec Baldwin plays a CIA analyst who figures out what Connery is up to.
