Review Summary and Plot Commentary about Lawrence of Arabia
LT. Lawrence is with the British Army in Cairo. He makes his way to link up with the Arabian Guerrilla forces fighting the Turks in Arabia. First with his assistance, then his leadership, LT Lawrence and the Arabs create enough of a diversion that the British Army in Egypt is able to advance through Palestine and Syria, freeing the Arabs from the Turks. In the process, Lawrence, an eccentric academic, endures violence, the horrors of war, the loss of friends, and unspeakable tortures that leave him a psychologically scarred, emotionally destroyed man.
--Sam Haines, Resident Scholar

This movie comes over very well on DVD. It is the 1989 restored version. The movie quality is very good, with only
a slight restoration flub I noticed. It is loooonnngg! I fell asleep on my first attempt to watch. I disciplined myself enough to watch a second time in it's entirety and was rewarded with great performances all around. Peter O'Toole should have gotten an Oscar for his glimpse into the
troubled mind and brilliant genius of Lawrence. Highly Recommended, but may not be able to be viewed in one sitting.

--Jim Miller, Resident Scholar
