| Review Summary and Plot Commentary about Run Lola Run |
The plot is much like a Sliding Doors, Groundhogs Day because of it's alternative outcomes durring the film. Lola (Franka Potente) is confronted with an impossible task. Her dim witted boyfriend, Manny (Moritz Bleibtreu) (The invisible Circus) needs a large sum of cash in 20 minutes. Her vespa is stolen, forcing Lola to run in search of money to bail him out of his sittuation. He says if she is not ther in 2O minutes he will rob a bank for the money. Both characters face the issue of time, and choices. There are multiple outcomes all of which happen with only the slightest change.
Lola runs from her flat, down the stairs and into a German city, to come to Manny's aid with a sack of cash, in time to hand it over to the mob types he is dealing with. If she doesn't make it in time he will probebly be beaten, or worse killed. With each choice, her father, a casino, a bank, she is confronted with a worse outcome.

Lola (Franka Potente) is the bohemian daughter of a high-profile banker. Her boyfiend Mani(Moritz Bleibtreu) happens to be a mafia sidekick who carelessly loses a huge sum of money in the subway. Lola has exactly twenty minutes to get him that money or he dies. The movie is a contemplation of what fate could have in store for them as Lola goes about this impossible task.

Lola (Franke Potente) must get her hands on a lot of cash in a very little time in order to save her boyfriend from the gangster thugs he owes money to, but every minute decision she makes will influence who will survive and who will perish in this action-packed exploration into fate, cause and effect.

'Run Lola Run' is an offbeat movie, exploring the possibilities of 'what if?', and supports the view that one tiny difference can have enormous consequences. This movie shows the action in three parts, with exactly the same starting point, and shows the possible outcomes of Lola's attempt to save her boyfriend Manni, who owes money to criminals, and has 20 minutes to pay up.

Boy, what a rush! Lola's boyfriend Manni lost 100,000 Deutsche marks he was smuggling into the country, and has only 20 minutes until the gang boss expects him to hand it over. Manni got badly hurt the last time he disappointed the guy. "Run Lola Run" consists of Lola's frantic, high-speed search (on foot) for a solution to Manni's problem -- which includes pleading with her harried banker father for help and learning a few of his secrets in the process. But this is not just a caper-thriller; writer-director Tom Tykwer uses animation and some special effects to heighten the exhilaration, and also tells the story three times(!): Lola makes the same sprint, encounters the same pedestrians, and has the same near-miss with a car coming out of an alley ... but never in quite the same way, and with a totally different outcome at the end of each of the three segments. Quite a visual treat.
