Review Summary and Plot Commentary about A Shot in the Dark
In this comedy a dumb detective is sent to investigate a murder. The main suspect is a young woman. The detective does not believe she is the killer even though all the evidence points to her. As he continues his investigation more people end up dead. He then discovers that she is not the killer at that there is something that is being hidden. He then teams up with the accused to find the real killer.

Inspector Clouseau is back in riotous form in “A Shot in the Dark,” the sequel to “The Pink Panther.” And there is no doubt that Peter Sellers owns this role. Elke Sommer, the beauty-beyond-description parlor maid, is accused of murder and the bumbling Clouseau is determined to find her innocent! Sellers is slapstick at its most sophisticated (if that's ever possible!). He is once again chased by his Chief Inspector Dreyfus (Herbert Lom). The Clouseau film team (Director Blake Edwards and Musical Director Henry Mancini) seem to have staked a claim on this “nonsense”! But it's delightful, harmless, and well
worth the laughs!
