George (Harvey Keitel) and his young wife, the beautiful and some nervortic Nathalie (Cameron Diaz) is on vaction on an island together with their good friend Lance (Craig Sheffer). One day George and Lance goes out fishing. In the meanwhile Nathalie gets a unexpected visit from her ex-boyfriend Kent (Billy Zane). When Nathalie wakes up next day she finds Kent dead, and the fishing boat with her husband and friend on the way in to shore. This movie is an remake of the Norweigan movie "Hodet over vannet".
