In this parody of Star Wars and Star Trek, Lone Star and his co-pilot Barf rescue Princess Vespa from the evil Dark Helmet. Dark Helmet then chases in pursuit. Dark Helmet needs this princess so he can hold her hostage so they can steal her home planets air supply for their planet because they have wrecked there own planet. Eventually Dark Helmet gets the princess. But with the help of yogurt and "the Schwartz" Lone Star manages to free Princess Vespa from prison and destoy Dark Helmet's Ship. In the end Vespa and Lone Star end up getting married.

In this childish Star Wars spoof, Mel Brooks creates an alternate universe that's nothing like the blockbuster space opera. Princess Vespa is about to marry the prince, when she decides to run away. On her way, the Spaceballs (lead by the evil Dark Helmet) catches her ship. Her father then calls for Lone Starr and his sidekick, Barf to save her. At first, Starr can't stand her, but then he falls for her. Meanwhile, Dark Helmet starts looking for them in a vast desert, and the gang between Yogurt, who tells Starr "May the Schwartz be with You." This comedy does a lot in the comedy area, and in the beginning, you will laugh but then becomes tiring. Near the end of it, I was getting a bit tired of Spaceballs.

In 1987 Mel Brooks belatedly issued this parody of the "Star Wars" films, with Bill Pullman as "Lone Star, Space Bum" (the Han Solo equivalent), John Candy made up as his copilot "Barf the Mog," and Daphne Zuniga as Princess Vespa. Her father King Roland of the planet Druidia wants to marry her off to Prince Valium, but she is kidnapped by the evil race of the spaceballs, whose own planet is running out of air and who hold her for the ransom of all Druidia's oxygen. Rick Moranis is hilarious as a pint-sized version of Darth Vader ("Lord Dark Helmet"), and Brooks appears as both President Skroob and the planetary philosopher Yogurt. Other cameos include John Hurt, Joan Rivers as the voice of the robot Dot Matrix, and Dom DeLuise voicing "Pizza the Hut." This parody is only fitfully funny, so don't expect the greatest in humor.
