| Review Summary and Plot Commentary about The Big Green |
In a small (Hollywood-typically multi-racial) Texas town slowly dying, a beautiful English female grade-school teacher raises up first the children's, then the towns spirits by organizing and training a soccer team. The story follows the typical pattern of Disney youth sports movies with the mean, tough rival team, girl players, and kids with family and legal proplems. What makes it unique is how it deals with the prolblems of a community who's best days are behind it.
