Smokey and the Bandit is a great action-packed comedy. Big Enos Burdett makes a bet with the Bandit to go to Texarkana, TX to haul 400 cases of illegal Coors beer back to Atlanta, GA in 28 hours. In order for this to happen, the Bandit (Reynolds) insists on driving a blocker car--a 1977 Trans Am--for the Kenworth truck that the Snowman (Reed) hauls the beer in. The result is comical. There are a number of police chases and one obsessed police man (known as the main "Smokey" or Sheriff Buford T. Justice) that will not leave the chase because his son has romantic ties with Carrie (Field), the woman riding shot gun for the Bandit.

General Motors must've made tons of money off this movie, because after its release, the company's Pontiac dealerships sold out of Firebirds in a matter of days (and leaving their Chevrolet Camaro twins in the dust on the sales charts!). Two drivers, Bandit and Snowball, take up an $80,000 offer to ship cases of bootlegged beer from Texarkana to Atlanta in 28 hours or less. During their big trek across the South, the Bandit uses his '77 Trans Am to block police cruisers from Smokey's 18-wheeler truck. Not only do they succeed in their mission, the lead cop Smokey's daughter-in-law leaves his son at the altar (and this makes Smokey so mad that he starts chasing the Bandit on his way back!) and also gets a lift from the Bandit. If you like road trips that mean something, then pick up this high-octane classic at your local video store today!

Justice(Gleason), becomes manically obsessed with apprehending the elusive Bandit when he joins forces with Smokey's son's runaway bride(Sally Field)!

Bo Darville or Bandit (Reynolds) is asked by Big and Little Enos Burdette to go to Texas and pick up 400 cases of Coors beer and bring it back in 28 hours. Bandit then asks his friend Cletus Snow or Snowman (Reed), who brings his dog Fred, to drive the semi while Bandit drives a Trans AM for blocker. On the way back Bandit picks up a bride named Carrie (Field) who has left a man at the alter named Junior. Bandit later gives her the name Frog. Junoir's dad Sherrif Bufford T. Justice (Gleason) then chases them from Texas to Georgia in a comical and eventful day. One of the best comedies ever made.

He gets money from the to buy the beer and a 77 trans am to block for the diesel. They get there and pick up the beer. In the way back they run into a bride thats running away from her wedding.

A Famous trucker takes a bet that he and his friend trucker can take an 18 wheeler and drive from Atlanta to Texarcana, pick up 400 cases of Bootleg Beer, and take it Back to Atlanta in 28 hours flat. On the way, the blocker (the Bandit) picks up the sherrif's run away bride and the Sherrif becomes obessed with apprehending him. Through car chases and car crashes, they make it with 10 minutes to spare.

He and an accomplice, Snowman (Jerry Reed) take off on a 28 hour race against time for the grand total earning of $80,000. The Bandit and Snowman run into unanticipated calamity when they cross paths with a 'Runaway Bride' whose freshly-jilted groom is the son of the Chief of Police. The Chief (Jackie Gleason), who's none too happy with the way things have transpired, goes out of his jurisdiction and to hilarious lengths to find the girl who left his son at the alter.

The Bandit "runs blocker" in a badass black Trans Am to draw police attention away from the truckload of beer, driven by his partner the Snowman (Reed). Bandit picks up runaway bride Carrie (Field) on the side of the road, and jilted father-in-law Sheriff Buford T. Justice (Gleason) follows in "hot pursuit!" One of the best car-stunt movies ever made; excellently paced and very funny, even if mindless fun (great banter between Reynolds and Field); a great snapshot of late 70s CB/trucker/white-trash culture and a glimpse into the South that outsiders don't know about (one of the rare instances where Hollywood got the South right); the best free commercial Pontiac ever got (Trans Am sales hit an all-time high in 1979); a much smarter movie than its reputation implies; and one of the last great movies about a modern-day, "screw the man" folk hero.
