All school girl Mary Katherine Gallagher wants in life is a kiss. The kind where you hold-your-breath-til-you-can't-anymore kind of kiss. There is one particular boy that she wants this kiss from, Sky Corrigan. And when Catholic teen magazine puts on a talent show contest, Mary knows that this is her chance to show Sky how talented she really is.

This movie is about a very "distraught" young woman looking for a man to kiss and to makeout with. In her quest she realizes she must become a superstar to get the guy's attention. She finds the man of her dreams who is...not interested! Through it all she gets the guy and they live happily ever after!

SNL's Molly Shannon plays an hilarious, nerdy Catholic school girl(Mary Katherine Gallagher) who is destined for stardom. She deals with the usual teen issues(sexuality and fitting in). If you've ever dealt with issues regarding teen rivarly, first love/kiss, religion, stardom in bloom-then Superstar is the movie to see. A great laugh, slap on the thigh, wipe your tears movie.
