Review Summary and Plot Commentary about The Score
An expert thief is thinking about retiring and settling down with his girlfriend and managing a jazz club. However, a friend of his asks him to pull of one last heist. He wants him to steal a 30 million dollar sceptre from the Customs House. He relcutantly accepts and is given a partner to work with. However, this partner is looking to betray him and take the sceptre for himself.
--Jack Bauer, Resident Scholar

Robert Deniro is a thief, and his partner has a big score that will let him retire. But he has to use a young hot shot kid as a partner. The kid wants it all and uses him to get the goods and then sets him up to be the fall guy. But Deniro has been doing this for a long time and is not stupid. He manages to turn the tables on the kid.
--Ed Phillips, Resident Scholar

This movie teams up three of the greatest actors (Robert Deniro, Marlon Brando, and Edward Norton)of each of their own generations. Robert Deniro plays a Canadian jazz club owner who has a second life of being a thief on the side. He has one rule that he maintains throughout his opposite life - never steal from your own hometown. Of course in the end he must decide if he should go against his own rules or not. Marlon Brando has a small role as Max, a man who sets up the connections for Deniro to go about his robberys. An accomplice to Max is played by Edward Norton who knows where a golden septor from the 14th century is hiddin. The septor is in a building where Norton works and pretends to be a down syndrome loner janitor. While watching the movie, I was reminded of older heist movies by the way things were played out in the film. This is a must see for any Deniro or Norton fan because of their fabulous actings through the movie.
--dino, Resident Scholar

Great heist movie starring Robert De Niro as Nick Wells and Edward Norton as Jack, two theives working together to get a sceptor worth more than $30 million. Things are tense between the two and distrust forms as this is Nick's last heist before retiring.
