| Review Summary and Plot Commentary about Seven |
Burnt out Detective Lt. William Somerset (Freeman) is just six days from retirement after 35 long years of service in an unnamed American city (played by both LA and Philadelphia), when a truly bizarre death -- a man forced to eat himself to death -- occurs. It's the first big case for the young and ambitious homicide detective who will replace Somerset, young David Mills (Pitt), but the veteran is not sure Mills is up to the job so they work the case together. Deaths that suggest Greed and Lust follow, and gradually it becomes clear that the killer, "John Doe," is after our heroes. This 1995 thriller is long on style, chills, and shock, does all right in the acting department, but is weak in its plotting.

This movie has a lot of gore and graphic means of death. This movie tells a twisted story about a serial killer who kills people who have committed one of the SEVEN deadly sins. Glaughtony, Greed, Sloth, Lust, Pride, Envy, and Wrath. Kevin Spacey plays a killer and Brad Pitt and Morgan Freeman return the favor as detectives. The only scene that may startle you is Sloth. I give it four stars.

Brad Pitt and Morgan Freeman are detectives trying to track down John Doe, an elusive criminal mastermind bent on committing crimes modeled after the seven deadly sins. Kevin Spacey plays John Doe, and although he is only in the movie for less than half an hour, he pulls of his part chillingly. Exciting, gory, psychological, suspensefui thriller that is fascinating and gross at the same time.

This is a modern day film noir, which is intended to play the viewer's mind. Based around 2 government investigators, it follows an ever more disturbing set of murders which aim to cover the seven deadly sins. The murderer is played by Kevin Spacey, who plays a truly scary 20 minute part of the film. The investigators (Brad Pitt & Morgan Freeman) are left chasing the moves of the murderer. Clues are intentionally left, the main clues being the name of the sin that the murder has covered. A sick climax leaves the murderer needing to be murdered to cover the last of the seven sins (envy). Gwenyth Paktrow plays Pitt's concerned girlfriend, who tragically gets caught up in Spacey's sick mission. Warning, this is a seriously disturbing film!

This Thriller is about a man who deciedes to kill some people who are committing the seven deadly sins. The movie follows the two detectives involved in the case and how they go about solving it. A real twist in the end. For people who love a challenge or some deep thought.

A very dark horror story about Morgan Freeman and Brad Pitt who are detectives chasing a criminal's case who is commiting crimes based on the seven deadly sins of catholisism. What I thought very interesting about this film is the fact that the killer (Kevin Spacey) doesn't actually kill anyone except the last victim.

Seven is a major psychological thriller that will keep you wondering and thinking. The basic idea is two homocide detectives (Freeman & Pitt) are put on the case to determine the cause of death of one individual. Gradually more murders appear leaving behind the clues of the "7 Deadly Sins" hence the title Seven. As they discover each mutilated corpse they become closer to finding their killer (spacey). Spacey is a very intelligent killer. He had designed each murder scene with specific detail coressponding to the Sins. The ending of this film will blow you away. This is one of the most intelligent films of all time. Extremely suspensful. Awesome charaters.
10 out of 10 for Seven.

A psychopath is on a murder spree based on the seven deadly sins. When Detectives Mills and Somerset begin investigating, they realize the abyssmal depths they will have to go to to get into the mind of a killer. The violence goes full-pitch until the unexpectedly grisly conclusion.
