| Review Summary and Plot Commentary about Deathstalker II |
This is the funniest and most successfully self-efacing of Roger Corman's Deathstalker series. In this blatant parody of the fantasy-adventure genre (and other B-genres), the wandering thief/mercenary/bounty hunter finds a young, beautiful seer who claims to be a deposed princess, and winds up helping her reclaim her throne from a nefarious wizard, wicked queen, and evil doppelganger of the princess. Along the way he faces armies of undead, an Amazon wrestling match, and other challenges. This film is loaded with footage from other Corman fantasy-adventure movies, along with amusing swordfights and good-natured nudity and semi-nuduty. It even has a blooper reel during the closing credits.
