BADLANDS is the first movie of Terrence Malick, written, produced and directed by the director of THE THIN RED LINE in 1973.
South Dakota, 1959. Martin -Kit Carruthers- Sheen, 25 years old, is a garbage collector who falls in love with Holly, a 15 years old young girl living alone with Warren Oates, her father, since her mother died when she was born. Oates is killed by Kit, and Kit and Holly disappear in the forest but are soon discovered by three vigilantes Kit murders in cold blood. Kit decide to drive through Montana State in order to reach Canada. While Kit is leaving more and more bloody clues behind them, Holly's love begins to fade.
Superb first movie.
