| Review Summary and Plot Commentary about The Legend of Billie Jean |
A pretty teenage girl goes on the run with her younger teenage brother and best friends after they are accused of attempting a robbery and shooting the store owner. They become folk heroes as it becomes clear that they were the true victims and they only wanted what they were owed. Young people everywhere look up to them as they receive national acclaim while on the run. The main character becomes a symbol of innocence and independence. There is a romance when the heroine falls in love with a young man they are alleged to have kidnapped.
