| Review Summary and Plot Commentary about Loves of a Blonde |
LOVES OF A BLONDE is the second movie of Milos Forman that he wrote and directed in Czechoslovakia in 1965. The movie was nominated for the Academy awards in the Best Foreign Language Film category.
Andula works in a factory in a small Czech town. As there are not enough men in this industrial town for all the young girls employed in the local factories, the girls are desperately searching for the man who could fulfill their dreams. Andula is seduced by Milda, the piano player of a band from Prague, and, as the young man has invited to come to see him if she ever visits the Czech capital, she decides to go to Prague a week after their first encounter. She goes straight to Milda's apartment only to find there his parents who are a little bit surprised by Andula's visit.
Bitter comedy.
