Abbie is a yoga instructor constantly in and out of tough love. Robert is gay, also unhappy with his lovelife, and Abbie's best friend for ages. One night after, too much drinking, the impossible happens: they go to bed together and she gets pregnant. The two raise their son as a weird but happy, functional family until Abbie finds her Mr. Right and wants to leave with him, taking her son. But Robert, feeling betrayed, will not take it lying down.
