Review Summary and Plot Commentary about The Piano
An impressive erotic and sensitive tale about a woman, mute since the age of 6, who only expresses through her piano and her daughter. Ada is forced to move to New Zealand to live with a man her father made her marry with by mail. The husband leaves her piano on the beach and it's an english outcast living with the Maori who takes the piano and offers Ada an unusual proposition: she'll have the piano back if she submits to his erotic fantasies for each black key in the piano. At first Ada accepts it against her will but soon she gets fascinated by the sensual moments lived with that rude man.
