Review Summary and Plot Commentary about Dark City
John Murdoch isn't sure of anything, he hasn't slept, and he can't remember who he is, except for brief flashes of memories, in addition to a woman claiming to be his wife, a detective claims that he's wanted for murder, and a scientist claims that things are not what they seem. For strange beings known as the Strangers appear regularly to change people's memories, and use their ability to shape reality, called "Tuning." And while John is looking for answers in a city locked in eternal night, the Strangers are looking for him, for John also has the ability to "Tune."
--Diana, Resident Scholar

Rufus Sewell is a man without a memory, searching for meaning in a city where the malevolent Strangers control reality itself. Engrossing themes of identity and human nature, though special-effects-laden finale may prove unsatisfying.
