New York cop Sara Pezzini stumbles across an ancient, mystical weapon, the Witchblade, during her vendetta against the mob boss who murdered her father. The amoral billionaire Kenneth Irons, who has studied the Witchblade all his life, offers to help her master its power. A better than average adaptation of a comic, retaining some of the surrealism of the original without sacrificing appeal to a wider audience. Yancy Butler's portrayal of Sara is high quality.
