Review Summary and Plot Commentary about They Might Be Giants
Adapted from the James Goldman play, THEY MIGHT BE GIANTS is a movie directed by Anthony Harvey in 1971.

When his wife died, George C. Scott, a well-known New-York judge, fell into madness. Now he believes he's Sherlock Holmes. His brother Lester wants him to be locked into an asylum in order to be able to enjoy his fortune. Asked to examine Scott, Dr. Mildred Watson, played by Joanne Woodward, is astonished by his new patient who's developed, like Sherlock Holmes, the ability to make tremendous deductions from any clues submitted to him. As Lester is blackmailed by a pair of bad boys, George C. Scott is persuaded that Professor Moriarty, his personal enemy, is behind the case. Joanne Woodward will follow him in his hilarious quest and slowly fall in love with this unusual patient who will teach her to see reality with a different perspective.

Produced by Paul Newman, Joanne Woodward's husband, THEY MIGHT BE GIANTS deserves to be rediscovered.
