Review Summary and Plot Commentary about It
Seven adults are called to come back to the poor town they grew up in to destroy the child murdering clown or IT that they thought they had destroyed as kids.
--Amy Teutenberg, Resident Scholar

Made for TV movie series based on Steven King novel of same name. In the small town of Derry, an evil creature (dubbed "It") feeds off of people, especially children, by shape shifting into their worst nightmares, most notably, Pennywise the (evil) dancing clown. Some kids, a stutterer, a fat kid, a class clown, an asthmatic, a jewish boyscout, a black kid and a nerdy poor girl, all social rejects, basically, form a club of sorts and develope life long friendships. Since It likes to eat kids, the reject club kids naturally become targeted prey, but for some reason their strong friendship coupled with extraordinary faith allows them to vanquish the monster and they vow to never let it return. Years later It returns and all the reject kids, now adults, return to Derry (except for the boyscout, who prefers suicide to reliving the nightmare from his childhood). They must dredge up old memories to inspire them in their ressurected quest to kill It for good this time. Exceptionally well done for a made-for-TV.
