| Review Summary and Plot Commentary about Time and Tide |
TIME AND TIDE is a movie co-written and directed by Tsui Hark in 2000. The movie marks the return of the director in Hong-Kong after a U.S. break with a serie of Jean-Claude Van Damme movies.
Tyler is a young chinese working in the illegal body guard company of his uncle. He accidentally meets Jack, a chinese mercenary who once worked for a south american gang and both become pals. As Jack's former employers decide to make some business in Hong-Kong, Tyler is charged to protect their boss. Jack kills him (the boss), steals the money of the deal and is soon the target of his old friends, Tyler's body guard organization and the Hong-Kong police. A masterpiece of the genre. Recommended.
