| Review Summary and Plot Commentary about Fort Apache the Bronx |
FORT APACHE THE BRONX is a movie based on a screeenplay directly written for the screen by Heywood Gould (the Boys from Brazil) and directed by Daniel Petrie in 1981.
A few weeks in the life of a policeman in the Bronx. The movie is a kind of chronicle of events that affect Paul Newman : the arrival of a new captain in the police headquarter and the new methods he brings with him, a serie of problems in the streets that Newman will solve with his brain and not with his gun, his love affair with a drug-addicted puerto-rican nurse and his scruples to denounce a colleague who's murdered an innocent young boy.
