Review Summary and Plot Commentary about Escape to Witch Mountain
Tony and his siter Tia have just arrived at a new orphanage. They don't seem to fit in with the other orphans too well since they have special powers that lets them cheat at baseball, read each other's minds, and draw pictures with a harmonica. They don't know it, but they're aliens. One day Tony and Tia foresee a car crash and warn the soon-to-be victim, who after witnessing the destruction of his limo, discovers their talents. He tells his rich boss and soon Tony and Tia are adopted by their "long-lost uncle". Their new uncle is a rich wacko who wants the kids to help him cheat at horse races and find oil wells for him so he can be an even richer wacko. Rather than be slaves, Tony and Tia decide to hit the road. They remember bits and pieces of their past and find a map hidden in Tia's purse that hints that they had family at Witch Mountain. They hitch a ride in the winnebago of the cranky old guy from Gilligan's Island, who eventually decides to help them find their way to Witch Mountain. Along the way they run into a posse of rednecks who think Tony and Tia are witches and want to throw them in jail. With the aid of their magical powers they manage to escape to Witch Mountain and are reunited with their real uncle, the old guy from the Dukes of Hazzard.
