| Review Summary and Plot Commentary about Dr. Jekyll and Sister Hyde |
DR. JEKYLL AND SISTER HYDE is a Hammer production directed by Roy Ward Baker in 1971.
Dr. Jekyll is a searcher looking for an elixir of youth that will give him the ability to carry on for years. He's persuaded that female hormones could be the solution. At first, he'll take them from dead bodies at the local morgue but soon will feel the necessity to kill young women in order to suit his needs. A disturbing side effect of the elixir is to give more and more power to the feminine side of Jekyll's personality and Sister Hyde doesn't need Jekyll anymore. Meanwhile, the London police is after the murderer of Whitechapel -Jack the Ripper- and is coming closer and closer to Jekyll's laboratory with each new murder.
