| Review Summary and Plot Commentary about Down by Law |
DOWN BY LAW is a movie written and directed by Jim Jarmush in 1986. The picture was nominated in the Best Film Category at the Cannes Film Festival.
A DJ, a pimp and an amateur italian gambler meet in prison after having each been set up. At first, there isn't any communication between them but, after a few weeks, they get along well. They escape from prison and run away into the Louisiana swamps. Between Roberto, the italian dreamer who knows only a few english words, Jack, the pimp, and Zack, the DJ who utters three words a day at the maximum, a strange friendly relation will arise while they are forgetting their differences.
