| Review Summary and Plot Commentary about The Gauntlet |
Based on a screenplay directly written for the screen, THE GAUNTLET is a movie directed by Clint Eastwood in 1977.
Ben Stockley, a cop of the Phoenix P.D., is sent to Las Vegas to bring back Sondra Locke who must testify against a member of the mob. Ben is set up and soon realizes that the mob and the police forces don't want him and Locke to make it alive to Phoenix. He also understands that his own chief Blakelock has organized the trap he's fallen into. Forced to stay together in order to survive, Ben and Locke fall in love and decide in spite of everything to cross the desert to arrive by themselves at the Phoenix Law Courts.
