SUDDEN IMPACT, the fourth installment in the Dirty Harry saga, has been produced and directed by Clint Eastwood in 1983.
Harry Callahan must leave San Francisco for a while in order to soothe the anxiety of the police hierarchy about his unusual violent methods.
He will find in San Paulo his alter ego, Sondra Locke, a young woman who's killing one by one the members of the group who raped her and her sister 10 years before. Since that event, Locke's sister, unable to speak anymore, is confined in a mental hospital.
But San Paulo's Chief of Police is not very happy with Harry's arrival. In fact, he seems to act as if he doesn't want to know who's responsible for the murders.
--Daniel Staebler, Resident Scholar
