| Review Summary and Plot Commentary about Bird |
BIRD is a movie produced and directed by Clint Eastwood in 1988. The movie won a Golden Globe in the Best Director - Motion Picture category.
This is the story of Charlie -Bird- Parker, the jazz saxophonist who, with Dizzy Gillespie and a few others, invented the Be-Bop. His drug addiction prevented him from enjoying the international recognition he deserved.
--Daniel Staebler, Resident Scholar
