Review Summary and Plot Commentary about Le Samourai
LE SAMOURAI (sometimes translated as "The Godson" in english speaking countries)is a movie cowritten and directed by Jean-Pierre Melville in 1967. The film was an inspiration to John Woo some 20 years later for his movie "The Killer". The Hong-Kong director said about Le Samouraï that " it's the closest thing to a perfect movie that I have ever seen".

Jeff Costello is a hitman. After his last contract, his employers try to kill him. Jeff knows that he has to get rid of them if he wants to survive. But the Superintendant François Périer is also right behind him waiting for the first mistake of Jeff -le Samouraï- Costello.
