| Review Summary and Plot Commentary about The Lost Honor of Katharina Blum |
Based on Heinrich Böll novel, THE LOST HONOR OF KATHARINA BLUM is a movie written and directed by Volker Schlöndorff in 1975.
Katharina and Ludwig meet at a party one night and the young people spend the night together. The next morning, a police commando rushes into Katharina's apartment, looking for Ludwig who's disappeared. Katharina is arrested for complicity and the Kommissar Beizmenne begins to question the young girl. Ludwig is an anarchist watched by the police for more than two years. Meanwhile, Toetges, a journalist of the worst kind, is printing stories about Katharina's private life. Soon, after having read the newspaper, everybody is persuaded that Katharina is also a dangerous anarchist.
