Mildred Pierce a woman who divorces her husband and opens up a sucessfull chain of restraunts. But whatever she does she can never please her daughter. She marries a man for her, buys a car for her, buys a house for her,nothing. Then when her daughter shoots Mildred's husband, she covers for her at the police station but in the end her selfish daughther,Veda, gets caught.
