| Review Summary and Plot Commentary about Mommie Dearest |
This is a story about a woman, a movie star, and a mother. They are all the same person they are all Joan Crawford. Who is idolized by thousands. This is the story told by her daughter Christina Crawford. Who was savagely beat by her mother along with her brother, Christopher.
In the last scene of the movie at the reading of Joan's will it is revealed that Christopher and Christina get nothing "for reasons know to them". Christopher says, "Mother always gets the last word." And Christina says "Does she". Which suggests the writing of the book as revenge on her mother.
At the funeral Joan's maid states to Christina "Your Mother loved you very much." Which is clearly a not thought out line by the writers for we have just sat here for over two hours and watched these two helpless, defenseless children get beaten by this women. Never-the-less I truly enjoyed this movie (does that make me sick person?). I enjoyed this movie because it is very melodramatic and might as well be a soap opera (as you'll see in the "NO WIRE HANGERS" scene) now that is my kind of movie.

This movie is the story of Christina Crawford, the daughter of Joan Crawford. She was brought up by her mentally ill mother Joan Crawford, the movie star. She and her brother were abused throughout their entire childhood. Sad movie but a good one. Very dramatic
P.S.
NO WIRE HANGERS!!!
