| Review Summary and Plot Commentary about The Funeral |
THE FUNERAL is a movie directed by Abel Ferrara in 1996. The picture earned two prizes at the Venice Film Festival.
Christopher Walken and Chris Penn, two italian mobsters, have gathered their families at Walken's residence and mourn the death of their younger brother Vincent Gallo who's just been shot. While Walken is trying to find his brother's murderer, Chris Penn can't bear the loss and is slowly sinking into insanity. At the end of the day, Walken is informed that the killer could be Del Toro, another member of the Organization. Del Toro is brought to him but denies any participation in the crime.
