Review Summary and Plot Commentary about Joy House
René Clément cowrote, with the novelist Charles Williams, and directed JOY HOUSE (Les Félins) in 1964. Superb musical score by Lalo Schifrin.

Pursued by the employees of the American mob boss whose wife he made love to, Alain Delon is hired as a chauffeur by an extremely wealthy widow who lives with her young cousin in a fancy mansion on the French Riviera. Soon Delon realizes that this woman Barbara tries to seduce him and that she's hiding in the house her lover with whom she murdered her late husband two years before. Her secret intention is to leave France with her lover who will have, at that moment, taken the identity of the chauffeur Delon. No future seems to be written on Delon's forehead as the mob men get nearer and the younger cousin Melinda fall in love with him.
